Lite Making Every Contact Count (MECC) Conversation Skills
Making Every Contact Count (MECC) is a Royal Society of Public Health accredited course and is about supporting you to make the most of every opportunity you have with the people you come into contact with every day to make a change.
The Making Every Contact Counts approach helps to ensure you are able to make a difference to the clients you work with by encouraging and supporting them to change behaviours that may be damaging to their health and wellbeing.
Who is the training suitable for?
Social Workers and ISA's that have completed their Strength Based Training are encouraged to attend MECC. In 'usual times' MECC would consist of two sessions delivered face to face, however, due to the pandemic this can't take place. In response to this MECC Lite is being delivered in one session and has been adapted to be delivered virtually. The session is three hours long and is very interactive.
This course is a virtual course run via Zoom or Teams - please add the date into your calendar, joining instructions will be sent to you a week before the course date.
Target audience: People who work with communities to improve their health and wellbeing are ideal candidates for this training. MECC training enhances the skills of those in people facing roles to optimise time spent with individuals by using the four key Conversation Skills.
